On May 13, 2026, a key day took place for the Avanzare Group. Jordi Hereu visited Avanzare’s facilities together with the Special Commissioner for Industrial Competitiveness, Nuria Aymerich, and the Government Delegate in La Rioja, Beatriz Arraiz. This institutional visit gave the public representatives first-hand insight into the work carried out by the Avanzare team in the field of advanced materials, as well as its impact on strategic industries.

During the tour of the facilities, the delegation was able to gain deeper insight into the research, development, and innovation processes that position Avanzare as a benchmark in the development of technological solutions applied to key sectors such as automotive, aerospace, construction, batteries, and footwear—all of which are fundamental pillars of the national industrial fabric.

The technologies developed by Avanzare make it possible to enhance the functionality of end products, increase safety levels in their use, and, at the same time, move toward more sustainable production models. In the automotive sector, advanced materials based on graphene contribute to the manufacture of lighter and more durable components, resulting in greater energy efficiency and reduced emissions. In fields such as aerospace, these innovations make it possible to optimize structural performance without compromising safety.

In construction, their use enables the development of more durable and efficient solutions, while in the battery sector they are key to improving safety and extending lifespan. Even in traditional industries such as footwear, the incorporation of new materials like the A-SOLE tech range opens the door to more comfortable, resistant, and sustainable products.

The visit also served to highlight the role of the PERTE (Strategic Projects for Economic Recovery and Transformation) promoted by the Ministry of Industry and Tourism. Specifically, the discussion focused on progress related to the PERTE VEC (Electric and Connected Vehicle) and the PERTE Naval, two initiatives aimed at strengthening the technological and productive capacity of Spanish industry in sectors considered strategic.

The VEC PERTE seeks to consolidate a value chain around electric vehicles by driving innovation in components, energy storage systems, and new mobility solutions. The Naval PERTE, on the other hand, is focused on modernizing the maritime sector by promoting digitalization, sustainability, and the diversification of its activities. In both cases, the development of advanced materials plays a key role in enabling these new technologies.

The institutional representatives highlighted the importance of initiatives such as Avanzare’s in strengthening Spain’s industrial ecosystem. Collaboration between innovative companies and public administrations is seen as a decisive factor in accelerating the transformation of the production model and improving international competitiveness.

The day also provided a space for dialogue in which the main challenges facing the industry today were addressed.
