What is Elastika by Avanzare?

Elastika is our R&D Unit dedicated to the research and development of functional materials, combining advanced chemistry with innovation. With a vision centered on the rubber industry, Elastika was created to develop products that optimize manufacturing processes and enhance rubber quality with tailored, sustainable, and high-performance solutions.

Innovation and sustainability in polymer-bound dispersions and other additives

One of Elastika’s main areas of focus is the optimization of polymer-bound dispersions and chemical additives. These additives improve the distribution of components in rubber compounds, increasing process efficiency and final product performance. The result is longer-lasting tires, more durable seals, and higher-quality industrial products.

Elastika also emphasizes sustainability and advanced performance through Nasika LE and Nasika DB grades. Nasika LE offers low-environmental-impact formulations, reducing the ecological footprint of rubber production without compromising performance.

Nasika DB includes versatile dry blends, co-agents, coupling agents, and process aids that enhance crosslinking, improve mechanical properties, and facilitate mixing, providing both technical efficiency and environmentally conscious solutions. By combining these innovative products, Elastika ensures high-quality, sustainable rubber solutions tailored for modern industrial needs.

Highlighted projects and sustainability

At Elastika by Avanzare, we develop innovative projects that combine performance, safety, and sustainability. Key initiatives include:

  • AlChemiSSts: NASIKA participates in the European AlChemiSSts project, which aims to develop safe and sustainable flame-retardant additives to replace substances of concern (SVHCs). The initiative seeks to substitute highly toxic and polluting halogenated compounds with safe alternatives applicable in rubber and foams, while maintaining compatibility with existing industrial processes.
  • Joule Effect in rubber: Traditionally associated with metals, the Joule effect — the rise in temperature in conductive materials when electric current passes through — can also be applied to rubber by incorporating graphene. This enables the development of innovative solutions such as heated components, radiant floors, and anti-freeze systems, expanding the applications of rubber in industry.
  • Thermal dissipation: Although rubber is an excellent material for many properties, it is a thermal insulator, which can reduce efficiency in systems requiring heat transfer. By adding graphene or graphite nanoplatelets, thermal conductivity is improved, enabling faster, more efficient, and uniform vulcanization.
