On November 20th and 21st, Avanzare had the honor of hosting the M12 General Assembly of the European AlChemiSSts project. Over these two days, project partners came together to share progress, challenges, and opportunities within the framework of this ambitious initiative.

The meeting was attended in person by representatives from ITENE, KFLEX, TEKNIKER, CLEANCELL, IPN, Heriot-Watt University, NASIKA, NTUA, APPLUS LGAI, Centexbel, Blatem, Cauchos Ruiz Alejos, QSAR Lab, ANGAZ, Laurentia, SIOEN, YORDAS, Green Decision, Entelos Institute, and BUW, while the remaining partners who could not travel joined virtually.

Throughout the two days, attendees reviewed the progress achieved so far, the current status of each work package, and the next steps to be taken. It was a space for constructive dialogue and collaboration, essential for advancing the project’s objectives.

On Thursday, participants enjoyed traditional La Rioja cuisine during lunch, including typical dishes such as “patatas a la riojana.” They also visited Avanzare’s facilities, exploring our meeting rooms, showroom, laboratories, machinery, and warehouses. Notably, Avanzare leads Work Package 3, focused on finding alternatives to harmful flame retardants such as antimony trioxide and medium-chain chlorinated paraffins.

In the afternoon, partners toured Logroño city center. Despite the rain, they visited the traditional Hoplita winery, where they enjoyed a guided tour and wine tasting. The day concluded with dinner at a restaurant on Calle Laurel, fostering conversation and strengthening relationships among partners.

On Friday, the meeting continued with working sessions and concluded with a light lunch, including Spanish omelette, stuffed peppers, and sandwiches. During coffee breaks, participants had the opportunity to network further and deepen collaboration among teams.
